Brief History of the Fabric: An African Princess, living for some years in London, phoned the President of the American university which earlier honored her with a doctorate degree and requested that half dozen Obama campaign buttons be sent to her in England.

Days, then weeks passed but the campaign buttons had not arrived. Soon the US Presidential campaign was in full swing, and the wave of response to Obama was clearly history-making! He was drawing crowds wherever he went, in America and overseas.

His book, The Audacity of Hope, became an international phenomenon. Peoples all over the world seemed to feel in their hearts and souls that this man—Barack Hussein Obama—was, indeed, “The Change the World Needs!”

He so inspired young people that their parents had to take note, and in so many instances parents embraced their children’s enthusiasm, optimism, and energetic hope, that “Yes, our world can become a better place.”

Filled with the cosmic energy of her ancestral connection to the world community the Princess called back to the American university President and asked what he thought of “an African fabric, a cloth that would pay tribute to this enigmatic individual who inspires world citizens in a way no one has done since President John F. Kennedy?”

Embracing the suggestion and joining forces with an Architect from Nigeria, the now ‘three partners’ commissioned and launched what was first called “Ankra cloth,” commemorating a former President of Ghana. The fabric colors are environmental earth tones, green and tan.

Thus, the Original Obama Cloth™ was created, “a heart with U.S. Colors and connecting circles and chains, uniting the peoples and the countries of the world, co-sharing and co-protecting Mother Earth, celebrating ‘The Change the World Needs.’” Made in Africa, the fabric cleared U.S. Customs on January 20, 2009!
